My Story

Joe Veltri is a Virginia‑based guitarist whose warm guitar style, timeless song choices, and natural ability to create ambiance have made him a standout performer for weddings, corporate functions, receptions, wineries, breweries, and private events throughout Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland.
A self‑taught musician, Joe’s journey began after the passing of George Harrison — a moment that changed the way he heard music forever. Four months later, his father taught him his first Beatles song, And I Love Her, and a lifelong passion took root. Seeing Paul McCartney live for the first time, followed by Eric Clapton’s One More Car, One More Rider concert film, opened up a world of musical possibility. Throughout middle school, Joe would come home, put on that Clapton concert, and teach himself every nuance by ear — shaping the expressive, intuitive style he’s known for today.
Joe’s performances resonate most with listeners who appreciate musicianship, authenticity, and the emotional depth of old‑school classics. He has a love for music from the ’60s to the present, especially the forgotten gems that spark nostalgia — songs like Bus Stop, Summer in the City, Summer Breeze, and Moonshadow. His sets blend familiarity with surprise, moving effortlessly from Bach to Britney Spears, from the delicate finger‑picking of Blackbird to an improvised blues solo. At open mics and live shows, audiences never know what he’ll play next — and that unpredictability has become part of his charm.
Joe performs as a soloist, in duos and trios, and as a member of the band P.U.R.E., collaborating with multiple singers depending on the event. Whether he’s providing background ambiance at a school dedication, playing a family birthday where guests light up at songs like Wonderful Tonight and Strawberry Letter 23, or setting the tone for a wedding reception, Joe consistently leaves an impression. Clients often tell him he “brings so much ambiance with just an acoustic guitar,” and that he plays songs people love but haven’t heard in years.
With 20+ performances under his belt — and over 50 if you include open mics — Joe has developed a reputation for being more than a guitarist. He’s a storyteller without words, someone who “has something to say” even without singing. His goal is simple: to play music that makes people happy, sparks memories, and elevates the atmosphere of any event.
Joe is currently expanding his work in weddings, receptions, corporate events, and the winery/brewery circuit across Virginia and the surrounding region.
